From
its beginning as a small city with a few thousand people, Dhaka actually
experienced dramatic turns upward and today it has become one of the
fastest growing mega cities of the world. Its existence as a major urban
agglomeration has been consistent over a period of 400 years. Even the
most developed cities in the world today cannot boast 400 years of
uninterrupted and organized existence that Dhaka does as a historic
city.
In
the 16th century during the reign of Mughal Emperor Akbar it was a
thana or military outpost having a population of only 3000 people with

অবৈধ পার্কিং নিষিদ্ধের পর গাবতলী, শ্যামলী, কল্যাণপুর ও আমিন বাজার সড়কের অবস্থা দেখতে ০৩/০১/২০১৬- রোববার বেলা এগারোটায় Dhaka North City Corporation এর
মেয়র আনিসুল হক ঝটিকা সফর করেন। সেখানে তিনি বাস-ট্রাক ওনার্স
অ্যাসোসিয়েশনের সদস্য, আইন-শৃংখলা বাহিনী, গণমাধ্যম কর্মী ও জনসাধারণের
সঙ্গে কথা বলেন। এই সড়কের বেশি জায়গা জুড়ে থাকা বাস, পিকআপ, ট্রাক সরিয়ে
ফেলেছেন মালিক-শ্রমিকেরা। এই সড়ক এখন যানজট মুক্ত, জনগণের প্রতিক্রিয়া
ইতিবাচক, ট্র্যাফিক পুলিশ আইন প্রয়োগে তৎপর। এই অসামান্য এবং অভূতপূর্ব
উদ্যোগের জন্য সকলেই মেয়রকে প্রশংসিত করেছেন।
রাজধানীর
শ্যামলী থেকে গাবতলী বাস স্ট্যান্ড হয়ে আমিন বাজার পর্যন্ত এলাকা
জনসমাবেশের মাধ্যমে “যানজট ও পার্কিংমুক্ত” ঘোষণা করা হয়েছে।
উল্লেখ্য, রাজধানীর যানজট নিরসনে ঢাকার মহাখালী বাস টার্মিনাল সংলগ্ন সড়ক, মোহাম্মদপুর, তেজগাঁও শিল্প এলাকা ও তেজগাঁও ট্রাক স্ট্যান্ড সংলগ্ন সড়ক পার্কিংমুক্ত করতে সমর্থ হয়েছেন মেয়র আনিসুল হক। আজকের এই ঘোষণা মেয়রের ‘সচল ঢাকা’র অঙ্গীকার পূরণে আরেকটি ধাপ।

মানুষের স্বপ্নের পদ্ধা সেতু নিজস্ব অর্থায়নে কাজ শুরু হয়েছে যা ইনশাল্লাহ
২০১৮ সালের মধ্য কাজ সম্পন্ন হওয়ার পথে । এ ছাড়াও জলবায়ু পরিবর্তনের সাথে
সাথে বাংলাদেশ নিম্ন অঞ্চল গুলো রক্ষার জন্য জাতিসংঘের মাধ্যমে বিভিন্ন
কর্মসূচি গ্রহণ করে জলবায়ু পরিবর্তনের কর্মধারাকে এগিয়ে নিয়ে যেতে লক্ষ
লক্ষ একর ভূমিতে বৃক্ষ রোপনের মাধ্যমে ব্যাপক বনায়নের সৃষ্টি করা হচ্ছে ।
এই সকল কর্মসূচী বাস্তবায়নের মাধ্যমে জাতিসংঘ হতে “চ্যাম্পিয়ন অব দ্য
আর্থ” সম্মানে ভূষিত হয়েছেন মাননীয় প্রধানমন্ত্রী জননেত্রী শেখ হাসিনা ।
জননেত্রী শেখ হাসিনাকে এ বিরল সম্মানে ভূষিত করার জন্য ৫ ই অক্টোবর ২০১৫ ইং
তারিখে জাতীয় সংসদের দক্ষিণ প্লাজা প্রাঙ্গনে ঢাকা উত্তর সিটি কর্পোরেশন ও
ঢাকা দক্ষিণ সিটি কর্পোরেশন এর যৌথ উদ্যোগে এক লক্ষাধিক লোকের সমাবেশে
নাগরিক সংবর্ধনা প্রদান করা হয় ।

জাতীয় শোক দিবস উপলক্ষে ১৩ আগস্ট ২০১৫ বৃহস্পতিবার জাতীয় সংসদ ভবনের দক্ষিণ প্লাজায় ঢাকা উত্তর সিটি কর্পোরেশন আয়োজিত ‘চিত্রগাঁথায় শোকগাথা’ শীর্ষক তিন দিনব্যাপী আলোকচিত্র প্রদর্শনীর উদ্বোধন করেন গণপ্রজাতন্ত্রী বাংলাদেশ সরকারের মাননীয় প্রধানমন্ত্রী শেখ হাসিনা ।
ঢাকা উত্তর সিটি কর্পোরেশন আয়োজিত এ অনুষ্ঠানে সভাপতিত্ব করেন কর্পোরেশনের মেয়র আনিসুল হক। তরুণ প্রজন্মকে উৎসর্গ করে বঙ্গবন্ধুর কিছু দুর্লভ ছবি নিয়ে এ প্রদর্শনীর আয়োজন করা হয়।

Implementation
Support Mission of Urban Resilience Project from World Bank made a call
on with Mayor of Dhaka North City Corporation Md Annisul Haq on 3rd
August at 11:00 am. They have discussed the project components and
implementation issue with the Mayor. The mission is headed by Marc S.
Forni Senior Disaster Risk Specialist lead the mission.
Dhaka North City Corporation budget 2015-16 has been approved in the 3rd
Corporation Board meeting on 29 July 2015. Later Mayor Annisul Huq
declared the budget through media conference and did media interaction.
